Our History
The beginning
In the heart of Kampala, a dream took root—one of a school that would nurture young minds with academic excellence and Christian values. Jason & Linda Carpenter and Lee Erin Jones, fueled by a passion for education and a calling to serve, embarked on a journey that would transform lives. With unwavering faith and the support of the missionary community, Acacia International School was born in August 2012, opening its doors to just 17 students. What started as a small seed has since blossomed into a thriving school educating and inspiring servant leaders for Christ.

In 2012, Acacia opened its doors to 17 students. The classrooms were simple, the resources limited, but the vision was clear: educating and inspiring servant leaders for Christ.

By 2014, demand had grown, and the school expanded to include a Senior School. New grades meant new challenges and opportunities to shape young lives.

2018 was a defining year: Acacia secured a permanent home—a breathtaking 41-acre site at Lakeside. It was more than land; it was the promise of a future.

In 2019, our first graduating class crossed the stage. What started with 17 young learners had grown, launching students into the world with knowledge and faith.
