Company Description
Agency for Cooperation in Research and Development (ACORD-U) Uganda, formerly the Ugandan branch of ACORD international, has been actively involved in the country’s development and humanitarian efforts since 1979. As a local extension of ACORD International, it has evolved into a Ugandan National Non-Governmental Organization. Rooted in the belief that communities are the agents of change, ACORD-U operates with the goal of contributing to Uganda’s development and providing humanitarian responses to vulnerable communities in rural and peri-urban areas.
ACORD-U’s extensive experience encompasses a diverse range of programming areas, including Integrated Water Resources Management, Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC), Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), Gender-Based Violence, Health, Livelihoods, Peace and Conflict Sensitivity, Governance, and Climate Change Adaptation. Operating across more than 48 Districts in various regions of Uganda, ACORD-U places particular emphasis on working with marginalized populations, including both refugees and citizens.
