The Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC) is a non-profit research organization based in Uganda. Established in May 2008 by Ugandan health scientists from Makerere University College of Health Sciences and the Uganda Ministry of Health, IDRC focuses on conducting high-quality research on infectious diseases, including malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV.

IDRC’s mission is to conduct impactful research through collaboration and partnerships, aiming to improve the management of infectious diseases in Uganda and beyond. They have produced over 500 publications, including policy briefs and articles in prestigious peer-reviewed journals. Their research efforts are guided by the core values of the I-TRAIN framework, which emphasizes collaboration, quality, and dissemination of findings
