Company Description
Uganda Non-Communicable Diseases Alliance (UNCDA) is a leader in CSO’s response
to NCDs challenge in Uganda. UNCDA an umbrella organization made by Organizations that are NCDs
specific, including; Cancer, Diabetes, Heart among others. The alliance was founded in 2010 as a response
to the global NCD epidemic which is especially striking hard in low- and middle-income countries. The
UNCDA member organizations work together in the alliance to create synergies and to avoid duplications
in the combat of NCDs. The Alliance is registered with a permit by the National NGO board as a national
NGO with a constitution and Board of Directors. UNCDA implements project activities spread across
Uganda in branches at district level. Currently the Alliance has eleven (11) branches and Kampala. The
branches are; Arua, Gulu, Nakasongola, Mubende/Kassanda, Kasese, Sheema, Luuka, Tororo, Serere and
Amuria, Mbarara and Bushenyi
UNCDA has been supported by the Civil Society in Development of Denmark (CISU) through a partnership
with Danish Non-Communicable Diseases Alliance (DNCDA). Through this engagement, UNCDA has
been engaged as a program organization among other five (5) national NCD alliances within East Africa.
