Job Description

1. Purpose of the Role
i. To assist the School Nurse in providing health care services, ii. Promote student well-being, and supporting the physical and emotional health needs of
students
iii. Maintain a safe and healthy school environment and ensuring compliance with fhe
school health policies and regulations. 2. Roles and Responsibilities
a) Student Health Care
 Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff for minor injuries and
illnesses.  Assist in administering medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician and
directed by the School Nurse.  Monitor and care for students with chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies).  Support the School Nurse in implementing individualized health care plans (IHPs). b) Health Education and Awareness
 Educate students on basic hygiene practices, healthy lifestyle habits, and disease
prevention.  Assist in organizing health awareness programs, such as vaccination drives or mental
health workshops. c) Record-Keeping and Documentation
 Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records for students, including immunization
records and incident reports.  Document all health-related incidents, treatments, and medications administered.  Ensure confidentiality of all student health information in compliance with data
protection laws. d) Health Screenings and Monitoring
 Support the School Nurse in conducting routine health screenings (e.g., vision, hearing, etc).  Observe and report any noticeable changes in students’ health or behavior to the School
Nurse.
