Applications should be filled in triplicate on PSF No.3 (Revised 2008) and submitted to the Secretary, DISTRICT SERVICE COMMISSION, P.O. BOX 196, MITYANA to be received not later than 5:00pm 22nd January, 2026.

Job Title : Education Assistant
Salary Scale : U7
Reports to : Senior Education Assistant
Job Purpose
To teach, examine and assess learners’ progress on an on-going basis in order to ensure functional literacy, numeracy and basic communication skills.
Key Outputs
- Qualified Education Assistant deployed
- Schemes of work and lesson plans prepared in line with the approved curriculum
- Lessons and remedial work conducted according to the timetable
- Internal and external examinations set, administered and marked
- Continuous assessment and evaluation of learners’ performance carried out
- Appropriate learning aids and materials prepared and used
- Class records and inventories maintained
- Learners guided and counselled
- Co-curricular and community activities participated in
Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing schemes of work and lesson plans on a termly and weekly basis
- Conducting lessons and remedial work according to the set timetable
- Participating in setting, administering and marking internal and external examinations
- Carrying out continuous assessment and evaluation of pupils’ performance
- Preparing and selecting appropriate learning aids and materials for classroom teaching
- Keeping and maintaining class records and inventories
- Guiding and counselling pupils
- Participating in class meetings
- Serving as a classroom teacher
- Participating in co-curricular and community activities
- Carrying out any other duties related to the profession as assigned
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Grade III Teaching Certificate or its equivalent from a recognized Institution
- Registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports
