Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following vacant Posts that exist in Lamwo District Local Government.

Applicants are required to fill application form (PSC Form 3. 2008) that can be obtained from any District Service Commission Country Wide or Public Service Commission Offices second floor Farmers house, Parliament Avenue, Kampala (Uganda).
Applications should be filled in triplicate with 3 passport size photographs and certified copies of all Academic Qualifications/Documents, Curriculum Vitae, and any other relevant Documents should be attached and submitted to the Secretary District Service Commission, P.O. Box 1, Lamwo not later than Friday 27th March, 2026 before 5:00pm. Application forms should bear the Post/Title as well as the reference number specified against the Vacancy.
Those in Government Service Should route their applications through the responsible officer who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delay.

Job Title: Enrolled Midwife

Responsible For: Nursing Assistant, Nursing Trainees and Support Staff
Job Purpose
-
To provide day-to-day midwifery nursing care service to patients.
Key Outputs
-
Patients received, admissions, discharges and deaths registered;
-
Patients prepared for meals;
-
Care during labour provided;
-
Care during puerperium provided;
-
Mothers sensitized about benefits of breast feeding and recommended diet;
-
Clean and healthy environment maintained;
-
Bedside nursing procedures carried out;
-
Daily ward reports compiled and submitted;
-
Ante-natal care carried out;
-
Doctors and Clinical Officers’ ward rounds carried out.
Key Functions
-
Receiving patients, registering admissions, discharges and deaths;
-
Providing care during labour with emphasis on keeping proper records, use of drugs and prevention of complications to mother and baby;
-
Providing care during puerperium with emphasis on prevention of infection;
-
Sensitizing mothers about benefits of breast feeding and recommended diet;
-
Participating in bedside nursing procedures as a member of the caring team;
-
Participating in Doctors/Clinical Officers ward rounds;
-
Observing and compiling daily ward reports for the attention of the relevant authorities;
-
Preparing patients for meals and participating in serving them;
-
Maintaining a clean and healthy environment for the patients;
-
Carrying out Ante-natal care.
Person Specifications
Qualifications
-
Must have an Enrolled Midwifery Certificate from a recognized Institution;
-
Must be registered and licensed with the Nurses and Midwives Council.
