Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified adult Ugandans to fill vacant posts in Mukono District Local Government and Mukono Municipal Council.

Entomological Assistant

Applicants should forward their applications using file folders in triplicate on PSC Form 3 (Revised 2008) or ESC Form No. 3 (for Teachers) which should be addressed to the Secretary, District Service Commission, P.O. Box 110, Mukono or delivered to Office of Secretary District Service Commission, Mukono. The closing date of receiving applications will be Monday 13th April 2026 at 5:00pm. The application forms are obtainable from the District Service Commission offices countrywide.

All applicants should attach three sets of certified photocopies (not exceeding two years) of their academic/professional certificates, transcripts/result slips and registration certificates/annual practicing licences where applicable, National Identity Card plus three (3) most recent passport size photographs. Applicants serving in Government should route their applications through their Responsible Officer who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delays. Job Title : Entomological Assistant

  • Reports to : Entomologist

Job Purpose

  • To assist in the control of vectors and collection of related data.

Key outputs

  • Data relating to vector collected;

  • Behaviour trends of vectors in the field studied;

  • Vector control measures to local communities and health workers disseminated and demonstrated;

  • Local communities trained and advised on the proper use of insecticides; and

  • Traps set up and other measures carried out for the control of vectors.

Key Functions

  • Collecting data on vectors;

  • Studying behaviour trends of vectors in the field;

  • Disseminating and demonstrating on the vector control measures to local communities and health Workers

  • Training and advising local communities on the proper use of insecticides.

  • Setting up traps and carrying out other measures for the control of vectors.
