Job Purpose
To plan and supervise the civil construction and maintenance works in the Board.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
-
Maintaining infrastructure including buildings, roads, bridges, trails, tracks, trenches, fences, firebreaks/lines, and boundary marks.

Developing and implementing infrastructure maintenance plans.

Providing technical guidance for the development of building plans and bills of quantities (BoQs) for works.
-
Reviewing and evaluating works and infrastructure development proposals.
-
Supervising the construction of new infrastructure as per the approved plans.

Conducting inspections on all building projects to determine unsafe buildings, drainage systems, and roads, and recommending options for repair or demolition.

Providing technical advice to managers and staff on all aspects of civil engineering works in accordance with building regulations, guidelines, environmental standards, and health and safety requirements.

Preparing bid documents for tenders, supervising project teams, and giving progress reports to the relevant authorities.

Providing technical support in conducting assessments and evaluation of electrical works and making appropriate reports.

Developing and sharing design ideas using CAD software.
Person Specifications
a) Qualifications
-
An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
-
An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in a Civil Engineering and Building Engineering field (i.e., Civil Engineering, Architecture, Highway Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Construction Engineering) from a recognized university/institution.
