Applications MUST be submitted in triplicate on PSC Form 3 (Revised 2008), and addressed to the Secretary, Butaleja District Local Government, P.O. Box 1, Butaleja, to be received not later than Friday 24th April, 2026, 5:00 pm. The application forms can be obtained from any District Service Commission Offices or Public Service Commission Offices, Farmers House 2nd floor, Kampala or from Public Service Commission website, www.psc.go.ug.
The applications should bear the Title of the post as well as the reference number specified against the vacancy. Applicants must attach verified O&A-level Documents by UNEB and Certified photocopies of all Academic Certificates and Transcripts, Registration Certificates. For Health Applicants include a valid Certified Practicing Licence, a photocopy of the National Identity card, Curriculum Vita, three (3) recent colored passport photographs and any other relevant documents like Appointment and Confirmation letters for serving officers. Only qualifications from recognized institutions will be considered. Serving officers must route their applications through their responsible officers who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delay and should not have reached the mandatory retirement age of 60 years. The applicants who are not currently in the civil service should be below the age of 50 years. Applicants who will not hear from us on conclusion of the selection exercise should consider themselves unsuccessful. For all posts, women, persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

Job Purpose
To manage and provide technical guidance and leadership in the academic and administrative programmes of the institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
-
Prepare schemes of work and lesson plans and teach students according to the set timetable.

Be in charge of overall administration and management of the school.
-
Plan for the physical development of the school and professional development of staff.
-
Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate teaching programmes and activities of staff and students.
-
Ensure proper planning, budgeting, and accountability of school activities and resources in consultation with the Management Committee.
-
Coordinate the functions of the Management Committee and account to them and the Ministry of Education and Sports.
-
Initiate development projects for the school and mobilize resources for their implementation.
-
Supervise and appraise all staff and employees of the institution and assess their performance.
-
Prepare progress and summary reports for presentation and submission to the Management Committee and the Ministry of Education and Sports.

Direct activities concerning student admissions, provision of supplies, and welfare services.
-
Participate in the implementation of Education Sector reforms related to primary education.

Plan and chair meetings of the school.
Person Specification
Qualifications
-
Minimum of a Degree in Primary Education or its equivalent from recognized institutions.
-
Must have attended at least four workshops/seminars and four short courses relevant to the profession.
-
Registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports.
-
Minimum of twelve years working experience, three of which should have been at Deputy Head Teacher or Principal Education Assistant level with administrative responsibilities.
