Position Summary

As a Lower Primary School Teacher at AsOne Ministries, your role goes beyond academic instruction. You will be responsible for teaching English and Social Studies (SST) to P1, P2, P3, and P4 classes, nurturing well-rounded, spiritually rooted, and academically prepared students. You are expected to uphold the professional code of conduct for educators.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Responsibilities

Develop and deliver English and SST lesson plans for P1–P4 aligned with national and school curricula.
Teach engaging, inclusive, and Christ-centered English and SST lessons appropriate to the developmental stage of lower primary learners.
Build foundational literacy skills, including reading, writing, speaking, listening, spelling, and vocabulary across P1–P4.
Introduce and reinforce basic Social Studies concepts, including family, community, environment, culture, and citizenship.
Use age-appropriate stories, songs, games, visual aids, and practical activities to make learning engaging and effective.
Provide remedial support where needed, following the school timetable.
Assess and evaluate student learning through a range of age-appropriate formative and summative tools.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of young learners.

Classroom & Student Management

Maintain a positive, nurturing, disciplined, and inclusive learning environment suited to young learners.
Provide age-appropriate guidance and counseling to students.
Maintain discipline while promoting mutual respect and spiritual growth.
Uphold Christian values and integrate Biblical principles appropriately into classroom discussions.
Encourage positive communication, cooperation, confidence, and respect among learners.

Administrative & Collaborative Duties

Maintain accurate class records, including attendance, inventory, assessments, and progress reports.
Participate in internal examinations, including setting, administering, and marking English and SST assessments.
Engage with parents and guardians through regular communication and meetings.
Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to enhance school-wide programs.
Participate in school initiatives, including devotions, fellowships, assemblies, and outreach programs.

Professional Development

Reflect on teaching practices and pursue continuous personal and professional growth.
Attend staff development sessions and contribute ideas to improve school operations and learner outcomes.
Stay current with educational research and effective teaching methodologies for lower primary English and SST instruction.

Other Duties

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Teacher or administration as needs arise.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education: Certificate or Diploma in Primary Education from a recognized institution.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in primary education, with proven ability and hands-on experience teaching P1, P2, P3, and P4 classes.
Subject Proficiency: Solid understanding of English and Social Studies (SST), the primary school curriculum, and age-appropriate teaching strategies for lower primary learners.

Technical Competencies

Proficient in lesson planning, classroom delivery, and student assessment.
Strong classroom management and learner engagement techniques.
Ability to integrate technology and appropriate teaching aids into teaching and learning.
Skilled in maintaining accurate records and reporting student progress.
Capable of creating a safe and nurturing environment for young learners’ academic and spiritual growth.
