Job Title: Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)
Location: A strategic location within East Africa (Nairobi, Kenya or Kampala, Uganda)
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Job Purpose

The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is responsible for defining and executing QSSG’s marketing strategy, focusing on brand positioning, lead generation, and customer engagement across diverse African markets. The CMO will be instrumental in building brand equity, driving demand, and creating a consistent and compelling brand presence that supports the company’s expansion goals.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Marketing Strategy and Brand Positioning
    • Brand Vision: Define and strengthen QSSG’s brand, positioning it as a leader in human capital solutions across Africa.
    • Market Expansion Strategy: Develop marketing strategies that align with QSSG’s pan-African growth objectives, ensuring brand relevance across various regions.
    • Competitive Analysis: Conduct ongoing analysis of market trends, competitor strategies, and customer insights to refine the marketing approach.
  2. Demand Generation and Lead Acquisition
    • Lead Generation: Design and implement data-driven lead generation strategies to support customer acquisition and revenue growth goals.
    • Digital Marketing and Campaign Management: Oversee the execution of integrated marketing campaigns across digital channels, ensuring effectiveness and high ROI.
    • Content and Messaging: Develop compelling messaging and content strategies that resonate with target audiences, driving engagement and conversion.
  3. Customer Insights and Market Intelligence
    • Customer-Centric Strategy: Build a customer insight-driven approach, utilizing feedback and analytics to understand customer needs and preferences.
    • Market Research and Analytics: Leverage data analytics and market research to identify new opportunities and optimize marketing efforts.
    • Performance Metrics: Establish KPIs and metrics to track the success of marketing initiatives, continuously optimizing based on performance data.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Partnership
    • Sales and Growth Alignment: Work closely with the Chief Growth Officer (CGO) to ensure marketing efforts are aligned with sales and growth objectives, supporting revenue generation and market expansion.
    • Product Development Support: Collaborate with the CTO and operations teams to drive product innovation, aligning marketing strategies with new offerings.
    • Strategic Partnerships: Develop and manage partnerships with external agencies, media outlets, and technology vendors to enhance brand visibility and drive results.
  5. Leadership and Team Development
    • Team Building and Mentorship: Build and lead a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Talent Development: Provide mentorship and growth opportunities for team members, preparing them to contribute effectively to QSSG’s growth trajectory.
    • Resource and Budget Management: Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve strategic objectives.

Requirements

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

 Education

  • Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

  • 10+ years of senior marketing experience with a proven track record in brand strategy, digital marketing, and demand generation, ideally in multi-regional or high-growth markets.
  • Expertise in leading data-driven marketing strategies and managing large-scale campaigns across multiple channels.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strategic Vision: Ability to create and implement a marketing strategy that aligns with QSSG’s pan-African expansion goals.
  • Analytical Insight: Proficient in data analytics and market research, with the ability to turn insights into actionable strategies.
  • Brand Management: Strong experience in building and managing brand equity across diverse markets.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Demonstrated success in collaborating with sales, growth, and product development teams to drive cohesive strategies.
  • Digital Expertise: In-depth knowledge of digital marketing channels, content strategy, and campaign management for lead acquisition.
