SENIOR CURRICULUM SPECIALIST (3 POSTS)

Job Title: Senior Curriculum Specialist
Salary Scale: UVTAB 4
Division: Department of Curriculum Development and Management
Reports to: Principal Curriculum Specialist
Responsible for: Curriculum Specialist

Job Purpose:
To provide expertise in the development and review of the curriculum and to investigate and evaluate the need for TVET syllabus revision and curriculum reform.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical support in the development and review of policies and procedures related to curriculum development and qualification recognition.

  • Providing technical support in drafting training schemes, textbooks, training manuals, and assessment syllabuses in consultation with the Sector Skills Expert Committee and TVET providers.

  • Participating in designing and developing training aids and instructional materials.

  • Preparing reports and recommendations regarding the equivalence of foreign qualifications.

  • Providing technical support in the development of guidelines and processes for evaluating foreign qualifications.

  • Maintaining up-to-date records of foreign qualifications and curriculum development projects.

  • Ensuring proper documentation of evaluation reports, policy recommendations, and curriculum revisions.

  • Providing technical support to educational institutions and training bodies on curriculum development and foreign qualification recognition.

  • Supporting the organization of workshops and seminars to build capacity in curriculum development and recognition processes.

  • Conducting research to stay informed about global trends in technical and vocational education and professional standards.

  • Providing technical support in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of curricula in improving the competency of TVET trainers.

  • Supporting the development of reports on the outcomes of curriculum changes and foreign qualification recognitions.

Person Specifications:

a) Qualifications:

  • An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in any field examinable by the Board from a recognized institution.

  • A Master’s Degree in any field examinable by the Board from a recognized institution.

  • A certificate or diploma in TVET Training is an added advantage.

b) Experience:

  • At least three (3) years of working experience in curriculum development.

c) Competences:

(i) Technical:
