Position
summary
The Trained Teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering
engaging lessons in at least two subject areas. The role also includes
assessing and monitoring student progress, maintaining a positive and
inclusive classroom environment, and actively participating in school
activities.
Key duties and
Responsibilities:
▪ Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and learning aids in line with
approved AEP curriculum.
▪ Deliver lessons, remedial work and project based learning as per the
school timetable.
▪ Participate in setting, administering and marking of both internal and
external examinations
▪ Provide guidance and counselling to learners.
▪ Actively participate in the process of continuous assessment and
evaluation.
▪ Maintain accurate class room records including attendance registers,
progress reports, inventories, and record of work.
▪ Participant in regular classroom observations and in-service teacher
training for professional development.
▪ Participate in co-curricular activities and strengthen school-community
relationships.
▪ Continuously research and update subject content, developing new
instructional materials as needed.
▪ Serve as classroom Teacher and undertake weekly teacher-on-duty
responsibilities.
▪ Support learner’s enrolment, retention, completion and transition of
learners through active follow-up and learner support strategies.
▪ Support in implementation of school-based project aimed at fostering
practical and vocational skills development.
Qualifications,
Skills and
Experience:
• Minimum of a Diploma in Secondary Education from a
recognized University or institution. Diploma holders are
encouraged to pursue further education.
• Registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports.
• Recommendation letter from the Local Council One (LC1) is
required.
• Willing and ability to work under minimum supervision and meet
deadlines for assigned tasks.
• Sound understanding of curriculum development, teaching
methodologies, and instructional delivery for diverse learners.
• Ability to work in hard-to-reach and multicultural environment
• A minimum of 1 years of relevant teaching experience is
preferred, but fresh graduates willing to learn are encouraged to
apply.
• Experience in community engagement and collaboration with
Local stakeholders is an asset.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong pedagogical skills and subject knowledge
• Proficiency in guidance and counselling
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Competence in basic computer applications (Word, Excel, etc)
• Capacity for curriculum interpretation and implementation
• Record keeping and classroom management
• Ability to support learners with special needs
• Demonstrated instructional leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with life skills education and learner-cantered teaching
approaches.

and diplomacy.
