Responsibilities

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To support research initiatives that provide valuable insights and data to inform the corporation’s strategic decisions and project development. This role involves conducting research, analysing data, and contributing to the creation of reports and recommendations that support the organization’s objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Research Project Support
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and management of research projects, ensuring alignment with the organization’s investments and development strategies.
  • Provide operational support to research teams, helping to coordinate resources, timelines, and deliverables for successful project execution.
  • Apply and adapt established research methodologies to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and validity of research findings, contributing to well-founded conclusions.
  • Support the continuous improvement of research processes by identifying opportunities for methodological refinement.
  1. Data Collection and Analysis
  • Conduct thorough data collection using both qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques and perform detailed analysis to support evidence-based decision-making, ensuring that data integrity, accuracy, and consistency are maintained throughout all stages.
  1. Collaboration
  • Collaborate with the Senior Researcher and other team members to ensure that research activities align with organisational goals and support the organization’s overall objectives.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including industry partners, government entities, and academia, to gather relevant information and ensure that research outputs are impactful and relevant to current market and policy trends.
  1. Risk Management and Quality Assurance
  • Identify potential risks related to research projects, including data accuracy, methodological issues, and external factors that may affect research outcomes.
  • Support the maintenance of high standards of quality, ethics, and integrity in all research activities, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and external regulations.
  • Assist in the regular review and audit of research processes to uphold research excellence and transparency.

  1. Reporting and Documentation
  • Contribute to the preparation of research reports, policy briefs, and other documentation that communicates findings and insights clearly to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in the presentation of research findings, ensuring that results are accessible and informative for decision-makers and stakeholders at various levels.
  1. Leadership and People Management
  • Supervise, guide and appraise research assistants, ensuring their work aligns with project requirements and contributes to their professional development.
  1. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, project planning and management, public policy and administration, statistics, and any other relevant discipline.
Details of experience
  • Four (4) years of experience in a relevant field.
