Responsibilities
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To oversee the Corporation’s planning and resource mobilisation functions through developing comprehensive strategic and operational plans, including work plans, procurement plans, and budgets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic and Financial Planning
- Support the development and implementation of the organization’s comprehensive strategic plans, ensuring alignment with the organization’s Act and national priorities.
- Coordinate the formulation of annual work plans, ensuring they are aligned with strategic priorities and operational needs.
- Oversee the development of organization’s annual budgets, ensuring they reflect strategic priorities and are aligned with available resources.
- Monitor and evaluate budget performance, making recommendations for adjustments to ensure financial sustainability.
- Resource Mobilisation
- Identify and secure financial resources through grants, partnerships, investments, and other funding opportunities to support the organization’s projects and programs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, international partners, private sector partners, and financial institutions.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Development
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather input and feedback on strategic plans and resource mobilisation initiatives.
- Represent the organization’s in meetings, conferences, and events related to planning and resource mobilisation.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with local and international organisations to enhance resource mobilisation efforts, including identifying joint initiatives that align with the organization’s objectives.
- Leadership and People Management
- Lead the development and implementation of capacity-building initiatives to enhance the planning and resource mobilisation capabilities of the organization’s staff.
- Provide training and support to staff involved in planning, budgeting, and resource mobilisation activities.
- Lead and manage the team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Risk Management
- Identify and assess risks related to strategic planning and resource mobilisation, including risks associated with funding gaps, partnership agreements, and alignment with the organization’s development objectives.
- Develop mitigation strategies to ensure financial resources and partnerships are secured to achieve the corporation’s strategic goals.
- Reporting
- Prepare and present regular reports on the status of strategic plans, resource mobilisation efforts, and partnership development.
- Ensure timely submission of all required reports to external funders and partners, meeting their reporting standards and guidelines.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business administration (MBA), strategic planning, development studies, economics, or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration (BBA), strategic planning, development studies, economics, statistics or related field.
- Certified Strategic Management Professional (SMP) will be considered as an added advantage.
Details of experience
Eight (8) years of relevant experience with three (3) years in a similar function.
