Company Description

LifeNet International is a non-profit organization that works to transform healthcare delivery across sub-Saharan Africa by partnering with existing local facilities. Founded in 2009 by entrepreneur Michael Spraggins, the organization uses a social franchising model to build the capacity of faith-based health centers. In Uganda, the country program serves as a regional hub for innovation, with its main offices located in Bugolobi, Kampala.
The LifeNet model focuses on four key pillars: clinical training, management mentorship, equipment supply, and digital learning tools. By implementing standardized clinical best practices and financial management systems, the organization helps local clinics become both medically effective and financially sustainable. This asset-based approach leverages existing infrastructure to provide high-quality care for low-income and rural populations who often rely on church-owned health facilities for their medical needs.
Since expanding into Uganda in 2014, LifeNet has significantly impacted the national health system, particularly in maternal and child health. The network now encompasses over 460 health facilities across seven countries, facilitating millions of patient visits annually and saving thousands of lives through improved birth protocols. During major health crises, LifeNet has also played a critical role in coordinating with the Ministry of Health to deploy emergency training and essential supplies to frontline workers
