Company Description
Gomba District is a rural administrative unit located in the Central Region of Uganda, approximately 95 kilometers southwest of Kampala. Created in 2010 after being carved out of Mpigi District, it consists of several sub-counties and town councils, with its administrative headquarters based in Kanoni. The district’s economy is primarily driven by agriculture, particularly livestock farming in areas like Maddu and the subsistence cultivation of crops such as coffee, bananas, and maize.
The Gomba District Local Government serves as the political and administrative body responsible for service delivery and local development. It is headed by the District Chairperson (LC V) and supported by a District Council, which acts as the supreme deliberative organ for the area. The administrative functions are managed by the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), who oversees various departments such as health, education, and works to implement national government programs like the Parish Development Model.
The Gomba District Service Commission (DSC) is a statutory body mandated to manage the district’s human resources independently. It holds the legal power to appoint, confirm, discipline, and remove persons from office within the local government service to ensure an effective workforce. Operating under guidelines from the national Public Service Commission, the DSC aims to maintain transparency and merit-based recruitment for roles ranging from healthcare workers to administrative officers
