Company Description
Kiboga District is located in the Central Region of Uganda, approximately 120 kilometers northwest of Kampala along the highway to Hoima. Established in 1991, the district serves as a vital gateway between the Buganda and Bunyoro sub-regions. Its landscape is characterized by a mix of rolling hills and vast plains, which support a diverse ecosystem and provide a scenic backdrop for the district’s administrative center in Kiboga Town Council. As an administrative hub, the district is divided into several sub-counties and town councils, all aimed at bringing social services closer to a population that relies heavily on the land for survival.
The economy of Kiboga is predominantly agricultural, with both crop farming and livestock rearing playing central roles in the livelihoods of its residents. The district is a significant producer of food crops such as maize, beans, and bananas, as well as cash crops like coffee and tobacco. In recent years, there has been a notable shift toward commercial cattle ranching and dairy farming, with the district becoming a key supplier of beef and milk to the Kampala metropolitan area. Despite its productivity, the district faces challenges such as seasonal water scarcity and the need for improved feeder roads to transport produce to larger markets.
The Kiboga District Service Commission (DSC) is the specialized statutory body mandated to manage the human resource requirements of the local government. Its primary role is to ensure that the district is staffed by qualified, professional, and ethical public servants who can effectively implement government programs. The commission is responsible for the entire employment lifecycle of local government staff, including the recruitment of new employees, the confirmation of those on probation, the processing of promotions, and the administration of disciplinary actions when necessary. By adhering to the guidelines set by the Public Service Commission of Uganda, the DSC works to maintain a high standard of service delivery in sectors like education, health, and works.
