Job Description
Position: Business Development Associate
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Business Development Manager / Team Leader
Job Summary
The Business Development Associate is an entry-to-mid-level role focused on supporting the growth of NFT Consult’s market presence. The primary responsibility is to identify new business opportunities, initiate contact with potential clients, and support the senior sales team in converting leads into long-term partnerships.
This role is ideal for a high-energy individual who is eager to master the HR professional services industry. You will focus on the “front end” of the sales cycle—prospecting, qualifying leads, and coordinating initial meetings—while learning to recommend NFT Consult’s specialized solutions in Talent Acquisition, Workforce Management, and HR Technology.
Essential Job Functions
1. Lead Generation and Pipeline Support
- Proactively identify and research potential medium-to-large accounts through LinkedIn, networking, and market research.
- Execute cold-calling and email outreach campaigns to secure introductory meetings for senior consultants.
- Maintain a consistent flow of “Sales Qualified Leads” to ensure the department’s pipeline remains robust.
- Assist in conducting initial client research to support the development of tailored business proposals.
2. Sales Coordination and CRM Management
- Ensure the Sales CRM is updated daily with accurate data regarding leads, calls made, and meeting outcomes.
- Prepare weekly activity reports highlighting lead conversion rates and outreach volume.
- Support the line manager in preparing presentation decks and marketing collateral for client pitches.
3. Client Relationship Support
- Serve as a point of contact for initial client inquiries, ensuring a high level of professionalism and responsiveness.
- Coordinate and schedule follow-up meetings between prospective clients and NFT Consult’s Business Unit heads.
- Attend client meetings alongside senior staff to take notes, understand client pain points, and assist in post-meeting follow-ups.
4. Market Intelligence
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities within the Ugandan market.
- Collect data for quarterly market intelligence reports to help refine NFT Consult’s service offerings
Key Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in sales, customer service, or a client-facing role. (Strong internship experience in a professional services firm will be considered).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential. Familiarity with CRM software is an added advantage.
Required Competencies:
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to engage with mid-level managers.
- Resilience: A “hunter” mentality with the persistence required for lead generation and prospecting.
- Organization: Ability to manage multiple tasks, follow up on leads diligently, and meet strict deadlines.
- Learning Agility: A strong desire to learn the technical aspects of HR outsourcing and recruitment technology.
