Company Description

The Embassy of the United States in Uganda is the official diplomatic mission representing the United States government in the country. Located on Ggaba Road in Nsambya, Kampala, the embassy serves as the primary channel for bilateral relations between the US and Uganda. The mission is headed by the US Ambassador to Uganda and coordinates the work of various federal agencies operating within the country, including the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Department of Defense.
The embassy provides a wide range of services to both American citizens and Ugandan nationals. For the public, its consular section handles the processing of non-immigrant visas for tourism, business, and study, as well as immigrant visas for permanent residence in the US. For American citizens residing in or traveling through Uganda, the embassy provides vital services such as passport renewals, notary services, birth registrations, and emergency assistance during crises.
Through its various agencies, the US Embassy manages significant foreign assistance programs in Uganda, particularly in the sectors of health, education, economic growth, and security. The US government is one of Uganda’s largest bilateral donors, heavily funding initiatives like the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis. The embassy also promotes cultural and educational exchanges, managing prestigious programs like the Fulbright and Hubert Humphrey fellowships for Ugandan professionals and students.
