Company Description
Hope Health Action (HHA) is an international Christian non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 2007. The organization specializes in providing life-saving healthcare, disability rehabilitation, and emergency response to highly vulnerable populations, particularly in Haiti, South Sudan, and Uganda.
The organization centers its global mission on fair, equal, and non-discriminatory healthcare systems. Rather than relying entirely on temporary foreign aid, HHA works to build long-term local capacity by equipping existing regional infrastructure and training local technicians, midwives, and community health leaders.
- Regional Footprint in Uganda: Operations focus heavily on the refugee crisis in Northern Uganda, particularly serving the South Sudanese population residing within the Yumbe and Moyo districts.
- The New Hope Disability Centre: Opened in 2021 within the BidiBidi refugee settlement, this locally staffed facility specializes in producing and distributing custom wheelchairs, prosthetics, and orthotics, alongside executing community-based rehabilitation programs.
- Malnutrition and Food Security: In response to severe food ration cuts in refugee settlements, the organization runs large-scale emergency relief campaigns to distribute therapeutic food (like Plumpy’Nut) to thousands of malnourished children while simultaneously managing sustainable agricultural and livelihood training programs for hundreds of households.
- Cross-Border Integration: The organization expanded its East African operations by opening a permanent Health and Rehabilitation Centre in Kajo-Keji, South Sudan, which runs mobile maternal and infant health outreach clinics to support refugees returning home from Uganda.
