Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified people to fill vacancies existing in Nakasongola District Local Government.

Applications should be submitted in triplicate on PSC Form 3 and photo copies of applicant’s certified academic documents/certificates, registration certificates, annual practicing licenses where applicable attached plus three recent passport size photos be submitted to the secretary District Service Commission, Nakasongola District Local Government, P.O. Box 1, Nakasongola, Uganda. Closing date is 21st May 2026

Application PSC Form 3 (PSF revised 2008) is obtained from secretary District Service Commission all over the country and Public Service Commission Kampala, located at Farmers’ House 2nd Floor or Public Service website.

Serving officers should route their applications through their Heads of Departments, Accounting Officer/Responsible Officer. Applications not properly routed will not be considered. The job title and reference number of the vacancy applied for must be quoted and qualified women are encouraged to apply.

Job Title: Driver

Reports To: Officer Assigned

Job Purpose

To drive and maintain Local Government vehicles in accordance with the transport policy and as directed by the supervising officer.

Key Outputs

Vehicle driven as assigned.
Vehicle cleaned, maintained, and minor repairs carried out.
Major mechanical faults reported.
Basic vehicle records maintained.
Vehicle safely kept.

Key Functions

Driving vehicles for official duties and assignments.
Carrying out basic maintenance and cleanliness of the vehicle.
Reporting major technical and mechanical faults to the supervising officer.
Maintaining basic records regarding the vehicles as instructed.
Ensuring the safety of the vehicle while on duty.

Person Specifications

Qualifications

Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with a pass in English Language.
Valid Driving Permit of Class C or D.

Competences

Basic knowledge of mechanical and vehicle maintenance.
Clean driving record.
Public Relations and Customer Care.
Time Management.
Flexibility.
