Job Description

1.0     Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill available vacancies in the Public Service. 1.1    Mandatory requirements for Applicants: –

1.2    Application Process:

  2. b)Click and Register as a new User to create your account and complete your profile (starting with your bio data moving downwards).
  3. c)If you already have an account, simply sign in and update your profile.
  4. d)Click on Jobs, then Advertised Jobs in the menu.  Select the Advert to view the jobs therein.
  5. e)Click on the job from the list of advertised jobs.
  6. f)View the job details and click apply.
  7. g)Review your application and submit.

 

1.3    Emphasis: –

The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Meteorologist for performing the following duties:-

–        Observing and producing weather and climate products;

–        Studying and assimilating weather information including surface data and preparing the required information for forecast formulation;

–        Analyzing meteorological data and preparing statistical summaries of forecasts and advisories for stakeholders in areas of Agrometeorology; Climatology; and Hydrometeorology;

–        Providing weather briefs and flight documentation to flight crew members and/or other flight operations personnel;

–        Conducting publication of bulletins for Agrometeorology; Climatology and Hydrometeorology;

–        Analyzing surface and upper air charts, tephigrams, satellite and radar products;

–        Supervising data entry, data rescue, digitization and archiving;

–        Carrying out weather research programs;

–        Compiling inventories of instruments in liaison with the Stores Assistant for the Section;

–        Compiling daily forecasts for one or more forecast location(s) within the country and acting as a standby forecaster or observer for significant weather events and provide support for other stakeholders;

–        Developing computer programs for data management and forecasting;

Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
