ABOUT UETCL

Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) is a Public Limited Company fully owned by the Government of the Republic of Uganda and holds the following operational licences:

  • System Operator
  • Operation of the High Voltage Transmission Grid
  • Bulk Power Supply
  • Import and Export of Power
  • Public Infrastructure Provider (for ownership and operation of the Optic Fibre)

JOB PURPOSE

The position is located at the UETCL National Control Centre and the position holder shall prepare power system operational reports for production, demand, and outages; and monitor and report on the production performance of generators, distributors, and other customers.

KEY RESULT AREAS
  • Production of system operations reports.
  • Generation and demand reconciliations.
  • Deemed energy and availability reconciliations.
  • Outage statistics compilation and analysis.
  • Market operator transaction reconciliations.
  • Wheeling loss reconciliations.
  • Ensure operational statistics are well maintained and up-to-date.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in power system operations.
Competencies
  • Computer skills in advanced analytics software applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT AND REMUNERATION
  • The successful candidate will be offered a contract subject to the Ministry of Public Service Guidelines on the Rationalization Exercise of Government Institutions.
