Job Description

Job Purpose

To carry out the overall administration and management of a Parish Unit in the Local Government.

Key Outputs

  • Work plans and budgets for the operation of the Parish prepared.
  • National and Local Government policies and programmes implemented and Council bye-laws enforced in the Parish.

  • Prepare and compile reports on Parish operations for submission to the Sub County Chief.
  • Collect and account for local revenue in the Parish.
  • Prepare work plans and budgets for the operations of the Parish.
  • Enforce the implementation of National and Local Government policies, programmes, and Council bye-laws within the Parish.
  • Mobilize the Parish community to participate in Government development programmes and projects.
  • Provide technical support to the Parish Council on matters relating to lower Local Government governance.
  • Serve as Secretary to the Parish Council and undertake all related secretariat duties.
  • Manage and monitor Local Government projects implemented within the Parish.
  • Coordinate the maintenance of law and order in the Parish.
Person Specifications

Qualifications

  • Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (“A” Level) from a recognized institution.
  • Certificate in Public Administration and Management, Social Work and Social Administration, or a related field.
  • Post-basic training of not less than two (2) years in areas such as education, environment, or public administration is an added advantage.
