Job Description

About the role

Purpose

The Business Development Officer (Relationship Management) is responsible for driving business growth through the acquisition, retention, and management of high-value client relationships. The role focuses on expanding the company’s Assets Under Management (AUM), strengthening investor relationships, and supporting revenue growth through structured engagement, referrals, and cross-selling opportunities.

Responsibilities

Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients

Serve as the primary contact for assigned client portfolios

Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention

  • Conduct regular client visits, reviews, and engagement meetings
  • Grow into trainings and lead work site activations and create opportunities for their IFAs

Business Development & Growth

  • Identify and acquire new clients for asset management products and services
  • Promote investment products aligned to client risk profiles and objectives
  • Generate referrals through existing client networks and partnerships

Support execution of sales strategies to grow AUM

  • Create multiple IFAs /KURA business growth agents per corporate institution and scheme

Sales Execution

Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets

Prepare and deliver investment proposals and presentations

Follow up on leads and convert prospects into active clients

Maintain a structured sales pipeline and update CRM systems

Recruit IFAs under their arm tree

Market Intelligence & Advisory Support

Gather market intelligence and competitor insights

  • Provide feedback on client needs and product improvement opportunities

Support marketing campaigns and investor engagement events

  • Always approach report feedback from a SWOT analysis angle to identify the competitive advantages at all times

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure all client onboarding processes comply with regulatory and internal policies
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and transactions

Submit weekly and monthly performance reports

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in sales / business development within financial services, fund management, banking or insurance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Experience in business development, relationship management, sales, or financial services.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Customer-focused with proven sales ability.
  • Self-driven and results-oriented.
