About the Job
The Montessori Early Years Teacher will act as a gentle guide for young learners. Rather than relying on traditional lecturing, the teacher will serve as an observer, facilitator, and guide, preparing an intentional learning environment and leading children through hands-on Montessori experiences that support their cognitive, social, language, and practical life skill development.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide children aged 18 months to 6 years through self-directed, practical, and hands-on Montessori learning activities.
- Maintain, clean, and enrich the classroom environment.
- Systematically introduce and rotate Montessori materials to spark curiosity.
- Observe and track individual student growth.
- Recognize unique developmental timelines and tailor specific lessons accordingly.
- Support children warmly with their daily personal routines and hygiene.
- Apply positive discipline techniques aligned with Montessori grace and courtesy.
- Keep parent communication boards updated.
- Provide regular and meaningful updates regarding student progress and milestones.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- At least 3 years of relevant early childhood classroom teaching experience.
- Solid foundation and practical understanding of the Montessori philosophy and principles.
- Practical knowledge of Montessori material usage.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Patience and a collaborative spirit.
- Physical capacity to work actively with toddlers and preschool children, including bending, kneeling, and working on the floor.
