Job Description

Job Title: Machine Operator (Cermix)

Organization: Hariss International Limited
Work Location: Kampala, Uganda
Division/Department: Beverage
Reports To: Production Team Leader-Beverage

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Start up and stop equipment.
  • Assist with production line operations in the factory.
  • Keep the machine clean.
  • Perform weekly machine care in collaboration with the Maintenance Team.
  • Load and unload boxes, shrink film and glue in machines.
  • Lubricate the machine and maintain records of lubrication activities.
  • Remove waste materials, including glue, oil and film, from machines.
  • Ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Mark parts for identification.
  • Read and interpret gauges.
  • Record machine data, including film weight, glue consumption and machine counter readings.
  • Perform machine changeovers when required.
  • Operate a twin-pack machine.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of a diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or any relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role in a busy environment.

Key Requirements

  • Familiarity with carbonated soft drinks and/or water treatment plants.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments within the parameters of given instructions, prescribed routines and accepted standard practices.
