Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the underlisted vacant posts that exist in the service of Luwero District Local Government on a replacement basis. Applications are to be submitted in triplicate on PS Form 3 (Revised 2008) and ESC Form 3 (1998) Revised for Teachers only, to the Secretary, District Service Commission, P.O. Box 78, Luwero, to reach him not later than Friday, 13th November 2026 at 12:00 noon.

Applications should be accompanied by three recent passport-size photographs of the applicants, photocopies of O’ and A’ Level certificates, certified copies of academic transcripts, certificates, appointments and confirmation letters for serving officers, valid certified Practicing License, Registration Certificates for Health Workers and other relevant supporting documents. National Identity Card with consistent names as those on the academic documents is a MUST.

Serving officers should route their application forms through Responsible Officers (Accounting Officers), who should be informed of the closing date

Job Purpose

To manage and provide leadership in the teaching and learning process and the overall administration of the school.

Key Functions

i. Managing and coordinating the implementation of education policies, programmes and activities in the school.

ii. Planning, budgeting and ensuring the proper utilisation of school resources.

iii. Supervising teaching and learning activities to ensure the delivery of quality education.

iv. Ensuring the preparation and implementation of schemes of work and lesson plans.

v. Monitoring and evaluating the performance of teachers and other school staff.

vi. Maintaining discipline among learners and staff.

vii. Ensuring the safety, welfare and general well-being of learners.

viii. Managing school records and preparing reports on school activities.

ix. Mobilising parents and the community to participate in school development activities.

x. Ensuring the maintenance of school buildings, equipment and other facilities.

Person Specifications

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree in Education from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the relevant authorities.

Experience

Relevant teaching experience and experience in school administration as specified in the Local Government job descriptions.
