Job Summary
The Chief Accountant (Manufacturing/ Production) will oversee all accounting operations of the production plant, ensuring accuracy in cost accounting, inventory management, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and compliance with financial regulations. The role demands strong analytical ability, leadership, and the capacity to align financial management with the operational realities of a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Operations Management
 Supervise all accounting functions including production cost accounting, general ledger, payroll, inventory, and accounts receivable/payable.
 Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports specific to manufacturing.

2. Cost & Inventory Control
 Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs and variances, recommending cost-saving measures.
 Prepare and maintain standard cost structures for production (labor, raw materials, overheads, depreciation).
 Coordinate periodic stock counts and reconcile with inventory records.

3. Compliance & Internal Controls
 Implement and maintain internal controls for production workflows and inventory handling.
 Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, statutory obligations, and financial standards.
 Support both internal and external audits.

4. Asset & Capital Management
 Oversee capitalization and depreciation of factory machinery and equipment.
 Ensure accurate recording and safeguarding of all fixed assets.

5. Budgeting & Forecasting
 Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, tailored to production cycles and volume fluctuations.
 Provide variance analysis and corrective action recommendations to management.

6. Cross-functional Collaboration
 Liaise with production and procurement teams to align financial records with operational activities.
 Present financial insights to management and support decision-making.

Requirements
 Minimum Qualifications & Experience; Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
 Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) – mandatory.
 At least 3 years’ experience in a senior accountant or chief accountant role within a manufacturing/production environment.
 In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles, ERP systems, and inventory management.
 Strong knowledge of local tax laws and compliance regulations.
 Proven leadership in supervising accounting teams and coordinating cross-functional departments.
