Company Description
Adjumani District is in the West Nile sub-region of north-western Uganda, bordering South Sudan, Moyo, Amuru, and Arua districts. The district is largely rural, with most people depending on subsistence farming, livestock keeping, and local trade. Its proximity to the South Sudan border has made it a host to a significant refugee population, which adds to its importance for humanitarian programs and cross-border economic activities.
The district’s local government is responsible for ensuring that essential services reach all communities. It manages sectors such as health, education, agriculture, water and sanitation, infrastructure, and community development. Political leadership, led by the District Chairperson, and technical oversight, coordinated by the Chief Administrative Officer, work together to plan and implement development programs that improve livelihoods and strengthen governance.
The Adjumani District Service Commission oversees the management of staff within the district public service. It handles recruitment, appointments, confirmations, promotions, and disciplinary matters for public officers. By ensuring fair and transparent human resource practices, the Commission helps maintain an efficient, capable, and accountable workforce that supports the delivery of services and development initiatives across the district.
