Company Description

is an administrative territory in the Teso sub-region of Eastern Uganda, located approximately 37 kilometers north of Soroti. Established as a local government under Uganda’s decentralization policy, it is bordered by several districts including Otuke, Napak, and Katakwi. The district’s economy is almost entirely dependent on subsistence agriculture and animal husbandry, with over 90 percent of the population engaged in these activities.

The Amuria District Local Government functions as the primary body for service delivery and the implementation of government programs within its jurisdiction. Led by an elected District Chairperson and the Chief Administrative Officer, the administration is organized into departments such as Education, Health, Works, and Production to manage the district’s 18 lower local governments. The local government is responsible for critical infrastructure, including a road network of 580 km, and coordinates essential services like primary healthcare and water sanitation for its residents.
The Amuria District Service Commission (DSC) is an independent statutory body established under Article 198 of the Constitution to manage the district’s public service workforce. Its core mandate involves the recruitment, confirmation, promotion, and disciplinary control of all personnel employed by the Amuria District Local Government. The commission ensures that hiring is conducted through transparent, merit-based processes, frequently issuing external advertisements to fill vacancies in sectors such as health, education, and administration to maintain high standards of public service
