Andre Foods International (AFI) is a registered national non-governmental organisation (NNGO) operating in Uganda. Formed in 2014, the non-profit enterprise grew out of the humanitarian operations originally managed by Andre Food Consult, which was co-founded by Dr. Andrew Kiri Amegovu and Dr. Patrick Ogwok. The primary mandate of the organisation centers around delivering multi-dimensional scientific and humanitarian solutions to combat malnutrition and promote sustainable food security. AFI targets vulnerable populations, including rural host communities, marginalised families, and refugees residing in active regional settlements. Operationally, the agency designs and deploys targeted emergency feeding interventions alongside strategic community health assessments. These models encompass a wide array of programs, including Supplementary Feeding Programmes (SFP), Therapeutic Feeding Programmes (TFP), and specialized dietary guidelines for infant, maternal, and elderly nutrition. Concurrently, their teams manage critical field structures focused on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) standards, agro-processing, climate resilience, and local environmental preservation.
To maximize regional development impacts, the group works through strategic multi-sector alliances with local government units, industrial bodies, international NGOs, and United Nations agencies. They actively advertise project-based roles and capacity-building positions via platforms like the Great Uganda Jobs Portal to scale their field operations. This structural framework enables AFI to efficiently enhance household livelihoods, promote long-term food literacy, and safeguard rural communities from persistent dietary gaps.
