Company Description
Bantwana Initiative Uganda was founded in 2005 in response to the fourth wave of the HIV epidemic, which had a significant impact on communities through a rapid increase in orphans and vulnerable children (OVC). The initiative was established to address the growing social and economic challenges faced by children and families affected by HIV.
Since its local registration, Bantwana Initiative Uganda has strengthened collaboration with local leaders and communities to implement focused, community-driven interventions. Its approach emphasizes holistic care for orphans and vulnerable children, ensuring that their health, education, protection, and psychosocial needs are addressed in an integrated manner.
Bantwana also targets compounding vulnerabilities linked to poverty, HIV, and gender-based violence, which disproportionately affect adolescent girls, boys, and younger children. Through evidence-based parenting programs and family-centered interventions, the organisation supports safer, more stable households and promotes the well-being and resilience of vulnerable children and adolescents.
