Continental Container Terminals Limited (CCTL) is a premier inland container depot and logistics provider in Uganda, strategically located in the Nakawa industrial area of Kampala. Established to alleviate congestion at the country’s border points and the main sea ports of Mombasa and Dar es Salaam, the terminal serves as a critical transit hub for international trade. As a licensed bonded warehouse, it provides a secure environment for the handling, storage, and clearance of containerized cargo, vehicles, and loose goods entering or exiting the East African hinterland.
The facility is equipped with modern cargo-handling technology, including high-capacity reach stackers and forklifts, to ensure the efficient movement of twenty-foot and forty-foot equivalent units (TEUs). CCTL works in close coordination with the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) to facilitate seamless customs inspections and tax processing directly within the terminal. This integrated approach allows importers and exporters to manage their logistics chain more effectively by reducing the time spent at port facilities and lowering the overall cost of doing business through consolidated warehousing solutions.
Beyond basic storage, Continental Container Terminals offers a suite of value-added services, including container repair, cleaning, and professional stuffing and destuffing of cargo. The terminal’s proximity to the national railway network and major highway corridors makes it a preferred choice for multinational shipping lines and local clearing and forwarding agents. By maintaining high safety and security standards, including 24-hour surveillance and automated gate systems, the company plays a vital role in securing the supply chain for essential commodities and industrial raw materials in Uganda.
