EasyRide was born out of a structural weakness in Africa’s mobility ecosystem: trust. Across Sub-Saharan Africa, insurance penetration remains below 3%, and in Uganda it stands at just 0.85%. Claims processing can take between 30 and 90 days, largely due to manual, paper-based systems that slow verification and settlement. At the same time, fraud, inflated repair estimates, and weak transparency continue to undermine insurer margins and erode consumer confidence — effectively stalling what is otherwise a $100 billion mobility market.

Founder Kiwanda Tusubira Isaac witnessed these inefficiencies firsthand while working with insurance providers. He identified a persistent disconnect between insurers and policyholders — a gap marked by mistrust, delayed settlements, and inconsistent service standards. Rather than treat it as a routine operational challenge, he framed it as an infrastructure problem requiring systemic redesign. That insight became the foundation for building a platform that seamlessly links vehicles, insurers, financiers, and repair networks.

What began with a single tow truck has evolved into a two-sided platform integrating both technology and on-ground execution. EasyRide operates a Digital AI Layer featuring automated damage assessment, real-time claims tracking, and fraud detection, alongside a Physical Execution Layer comprising over 50 certified garages and more than 200 skilled technicians. Together, these layers deliver standardized, OEM-aligned repair quality across Uganda, accelerating claims resolution while restoring confidence in the mobility and insurance value chain.
