Company Description
The Education Service Commission is a constitutional body established under Article 167(1) of the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda. Its establishment provides a legal and institutional framework for the management of human resources within the education sector.
Article 168(1) of the Constitution outlines the functions, authority, and autonomy of the Education Service Commission in carrying out its mandate. This constitutional backing ensures that the Commission operates independently and fairly in the execution of its responsibilities.
Through its mandate, the Education Service Commission is responsible for overseeing key human resource functions in the education service, including recruitment, appointment, promotion, and discipline. Its autonomy safeguards transparency, professionalism, and merit-based management within Uganda’s education system.
