Company Description
Madi-Okollo District is located in the central part of the West Nile sub-region in Northern Uganda. It shares boundaries with the River Nile, Amuru and Adjumani Districts to the east; Obongi and Yumbe to the north; Arua and Terego to the west; and Zombo, Nebbi and Pakwach to the south. The district lies approximately 58 kilometres southeast of Arua City along the Arua–Pakwach Road and about 616 kilometres from Kampala via Pakwach and Karuma. Its position places it at a strategic intersection within West Nile, linking several districts across the region.
Madi-Okollo District Local Government is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering public services in line with Uganda’s decentralised governance framework. It oversees sectors such as education, health, agriculture, works, community development and finance, ensuring that national policies are implemented at the district level. Through the District Council, technical departments and lower local governments, it drives local development priorities, budgeting, and service delivery to communities across the district.
The Madi-Okollo District Service Commission plays a statutory role in human resource management within the district local government. Mandated under the Constitution and relevant public service laws, the Commission is responsible for recruiting, confirming, promoting and disciplining staff serving in the district public service. By ensuring merit-based appointments and adherence to established guidelines, it safeguards professionalism, accountability and efficiency in the district’s workforce.
