Refugees Seeking Equal Access at the Table (R-SEAT)

Refugees Seeking Equal Access at the Table (R-SEAT) is an international initiative focused on strengthening global refugee responses by promoting meaningful refugee participation. The organisation works to co-design mechanisms that amplify refugee leadership ecosystems and ensure refugees are actively involved in decision-making processes at state and global levels in a sustainable and transformative manner.

R-SEAT’s mission is to secure commitments from 20 Executive Committee (ExCom) Member States to formalize refugee participation within their national delegations. In addition, R-SEAT builds capacity across the global refugee leadership ecosystem by connecting refugee leaders and refugee-led organisations (RLOs) with key stakeholders, including policymakers, foundations, and non-profit organisations.

R-SEAT envisions a global refugee regime where refugees play a central role in decision-making bodies such as ExCom, the Annual Tripartite Commission for Resettlement (ATCR), the Global Refugee Forum (GRF), and similar global policy platforms. As a network of refugees active in policy and service delivery spaces worldwide, R-SEAT strives to represent and elevate the collective voices of refugee-led organisations at the global level.
