Company Description
Rwampara District is located in South Western Uganda and was created in 2019, having been carved out of Mbarara District. The district features a mix of highland and lowland terrain, fertile soils, and a predominantly rural population, making agriculture the primary economic activity. Residents engage in crop farming—including bananas, beans, maize, and horticultural crops—alongside livestock rearing and small-scale trade.
Rwampara District Local Government operates under Uganda’s decentralised system, responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering public services to the people of the district. Key sectors under its mandate include education, health, agriculture, infrastructure, water and sanitation, and community development, with the aim of improving livelihoods and fostering sustainable development.
The Rwampara District Service Commission manages the human resources of the district public service. It oversees recruitment, appointment, confirmation, promotion, and disciplinary control of public officers. By ensuring that competent and qualified personnel are deployed across departments, the Commission strengthens service delivery, accountability, and governance in the district.
