Its comprehensive service portfolio incorporates specialized policies such as motor vehicle insurance, fire protection, marine cargo insurance, travel policies, and public liability indemnities. Over the years, the underwriter has established a robust market identity centered around strong financial resilience and a consistent capacity to settle substantial claims.
SWICO commands one of the most expansive physical service networks within Uganda’s insurance industry, overseeing over 21 operational branches distributed across the central, western, northern, and eastern regions. The company’s administrative epicenter is stationed at Sure House, a flagship multi-story commercial real estate asset situated along Plot 1 on Bombo Road within Kampala’s central business district. Furthermore, its physical footprint extends to regional investments, including its own dedicated SWICO House situated within Masaka City.
To align with modern digital trends and meet rising customer demands, the company has heavily accelerated its digital transformation under new corporate executive leadership. The company operates a fully integrated digital motor third-party (MTP) insurance platform allowing motorists to seamlessly compute payments via MTN or Airtel Mobile Money portals and acquire digital validation stickers. This continuous automation drive enables the legacy firm to manage massive annual written premiums efficiently, lower claims processing times, and strengthen its overall market competitiveness.
