Company Description

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a global Christian denomination with a rapidly growing presence in Uganda, where it has been officially established since the early 1990s. The church is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, but operates locally through a network of congregations known as wards and branches. In Uganda, the church’s administrative operations are centered in Kampala, overseeing various spiritual and humanitarian initiatives that aim to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and strengthen family units within the community.
A defining feature of the church in the region is its heavy emphasis on humanitarian service and self-reliance. Through its charitable arm, the church collaborates with the Ugandan government and various non-governmental organizations to implement large-scale projects, such as the construction of clean water systems, the donation of wheelchairs, and the provision of neonatal resuscitation training for healthcare workers. These efforts are part of a broader mission to alleviate suffering and empower local communities to become more self-sufficient through education and vocational support.
The church is also notable for its investment in permanent infrastructure, most significantly the announcement and ongoing development of the Kampala Uganda Temple. This sacred building, located in the Mutundwe area, is designed to serve as a spiritual center for members across the East African region. In addition to spiritual services, the church provides extensive resources for family history research and youth development, fostering a disciplined and community-oriented lifestyle among its members while contributing to the religious diversity of the country.
  • Congregational Support: Organizing local members into wards and branches that provide a sense of community, spiritual guidance, and mutual aid.
