Company Description
The Uganda National Institute for Teacher Education (UNITE) was established on 5th July 2024 through a Statutory Instrument issued by the Government of Uganda. The creation of UNITE marks a major reform in teacher education, aimed at strengthening the quality, relevance, and standardization of teacher training in the country.
UNITE was formed as part of government efforts to consolidate and streamline teacher education institutions, improving coordination, governance, and oversight of teacher training programs. The institute is mandated to provide professional teacher education, training, and development that aligns with national education goals and evolving curriculum requirements.
Through UNITE, the Government of Uganda seeks to enhance the competence, professionalism, and effectiveness of teachers across all levels of education. The institute plays a central role in advancing education quality, supporting continuous professional development, and contributing to national human capital development.
