Company Description
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) is a statutory institution established under Cap 217 of the Laws of Uganda, tasked with providing comprehensive registration services that support private sector growth and promote a favorable investment environment in the country. URSB plays a central role in facilitating formal business operations, protecting legal interests, and ensuring transparency in commercial and legal transactions.
Within URSB, the Department of Business Registration (DBR) is responsible for key business-related services. These include conducting name searches and reservations, incorporating new companies, registering business names, and managing the registration of legal instruments and documents. The department also handles company records, collateral securities such as chattels, mortgages, and debentures, as well as certifications and information searches.
By offering these services, URSB and DBR provide critical support for entrepreneurs, investors, and institutions, enabling them to operate within a formal and legally recognized framework. This not only strengthens the business environment but also enhances investor confidence and promotes sustainable economic growth in Uganda.
