The Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB) is a national corporate body established by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Act No. 3 of 2025, Section 77, Clause 2(a). UVTAB operates under the Ministry of Education and Sports and is responsible for the assessment and certification of competences obtained through formal and informal TVET. The Board is also responsible for the development of TVET training packages and curricula in consultation with Sector Skills Expert Committees and TVET providers and with the approval of the TVET Council. Established in 2025, UVTAB is committed to building a reputation for high-quality assessment and certification of competences, providing individuals and the world of work with the requisite skills and knowledge needed to drive socio-economic transformation and national development.
