Company Description

Youth Platform Africa (YPA) is a leading Pan-African agribusiness and youth empowerment organization based in Uganda. Founded in 2008 as a small village group of 21 people in the Gomba district, the initiative has grown significantly over the years. In 2010, it became a community-based organization and later registered as BREC Youth Empowerment Africa Limited. Today, it boasts over 13,000 active members and several branches, striving to drive agricultural transformation and economic independence across the continent.
The organization is widely recognized for its massive Goats Agribusiness Project, managing over 130,000 goats. YPA offers unique active and passive farming models that allow individuals with limited time, land, or resources to invest in livestock. Under these packages, professional herders and veterinarians handle the daily care, security, and breeding. This structure guarantees sustainable income and regular financial returns for everyday participants.
Beyond livestock, YPA runs the Maize Project, which spans tens of thousands of acres of cultivation. Farmers can secure plots on a contract basis designed to turn harvests into steady profits. The group also manages extensive beekeeping operations with thousands of beehives and oversees vital agroforestry and pasture initiatives. These multi-sector efforts enhance soil health, boost local food security, and produce valuable commodities like honey. [
YPA operates with a charitable mission to uplift vulnerable youth, children, and local communities through practical knowledge transfer. State figures and regional leaders have commended the group for turning village roots into a national impact model. Looking forward, YPA aims to expand its successful agricultural frameworks further across East Africa and the rest of the continent.
