Company Description
Youth Social Advocacy Team (YSAT) is a refugee-led, non-profit and non-governmental organisation dedicated to supporting conflict-affected youth in Uganda. Its core mandate centers on dismantling barriers that limit access to quality education and sustainable livelihoods, while simultaneously addressing the structural drivers of violent conflict among refugees and vulnerable host communities. By focusing on young people—who often bear the brunt of displacement and instability—YSAT positions youth not merely as beneficiaries, but as active agents in peacebuilding and socio-economic transformation.
YSAT is legally registered with the National Bureau for Non-Governmental Organizations (Reg. REGR152704213NB) as a Regional NGO authorised to operate across Uganda’s refugee-hosting districts in West Nile, South Western Uganda, and urban Kampala. This geographic footprint enables the organisation to engage directly within settlement contexts and urban refugee communities, aligning its interventions with local government structures, humanitarian actors, and community-based networks.
The organisation’s 2030 Country Strategic Framework is anchored on four integrated pillars: saving lives, protecting communities, building resilience, and transforming lives among displaced populations—particularly youth. These programmatic pillars move beyond short-term relief to a long-term empowerment model that combines protection, skills development, social cohesion initiatives, and economic inclusion. Through this structured approach, YSAT seeks to create durable pathways for stability, self-reliance, and inclusive development within Uganda’s refugee ecosystem.
