Job Description

Job Summary:

The Accounts Trainee will be responsible for supporting the finance and accounting functions of Bondrich Advisory Group Ltd. This role is ideal for a recent graduate looking to build a career in accounting and financial management within a professional services firm. The trainee will assist in bookkeeping, financial reporting, reconciliations, and payroll support, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including processing invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and verify the accuracy of transactions in the general ledger.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow analyses for internal and client projects.
  • Support payroll processing by collating timesheets, calculating deductions, and preparing pay slips.
  • Help with the preparation of tax returns (VAT, PAYE, WHT) and ensure compliance with statutory deadlines.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date filing systems for financial documents and receipts.
  • Assist in internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and schedules.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and payable, following up on outstanding balances.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to identify process improvements and implement best practices.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • No prior experience required; however, internships or attachments in an accounting/finance role are an added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Tally ERP9 or similar) is a plus.
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential financial information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
