Job Description

Busitema University is a multi-campus Public University located in Eastern Uganda. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill vacant positions at the University. Assistant Lecturer – Marine Engineering

Salary Scale: M6.2

Requirements
  • Master of Science degree in Marine Engineering, Marine Systems Engineering, Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Marine Option) or Marine Electrical Engineering from a recognized Institution of higher learning.
  • First Class or Second-class Upper division Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline (Nautical Science/Maritime Transport) from a recognized Institution of higher learning.
  • University teaching experience or relevant working experience in a reputable Organization or Industry is an added advantage.
  • A valid STCW Certificate of Competency (CoC) as Marine Engineer Officer (Operational or Management Level) and additional certification in marine engineering simulation, marine electrical systems, automation, welding, hydraulics, or marine maintenance is an added advantage.
  • Registration with a recognized Professional Engineering body is desirable.
  • Age Limit: Should not have reached forty (40) years of age by deadline for submission of application.
